Investment Insights

If you have a keen interest in understanding the latest trends in global economic data and markets, then this is the session for you.

This session will provide insights into what we can potentially expect from market movements, future economic forecasts and political activity as the world continues to adjust to on-going events.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session. You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your individual circumstances.

Introduction to financial planning

If you feel like you could be doing more to make your pension work for you and are interested in understanding how you might get into saving habits that suit you, this session is for you.

‘Pension freedoms’ were a collection of changes made in April 2015 to provide more flexibility around retirement options. They have completely changed the pension landscape. This session emphasises the importance of understanding these changes and helps make sense of the decisions you have ahead.

It’s also important to know what the differences are between pensions and other savings and how those ways of savings could work for you. ISAs in particular are designed to encourage additional saving. There are various types of ISAs that meet a range of needs, so it is important to know which one is best for you.

During the webinar you will hear about pensions and how they can be a great way to save for the future, why you could consider saving with an ISA and the potential benefits of doing so and the different ISA options.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session. You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.

Approaching Retirement

The aim of our Approaching Retirement webinar is to share a range of useful information, scenarios and planning tips to help you plan ahead for your time in retirement.

We refer to different types of pension arrangements and the options each could create for you in retirement. We then bring these options to life by explaining the key trade-offs to consider both while you are working and when you are looking to access your pension benefits.

The webinar is best suited for those aged over 55, although it is open to anyone to attend.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session.  You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.

Employee Benefit Insights

The aim of the webinar is to provide insights into your employee benefits and how they could factor into wider decisions you could make in respect of your personal finances.

It will also summarise a range of savings options, how tax relief works on pension contributions, the different ways to think about protecting the plans you have in place, and how to create options for the future.

The webinar is suited to people of all ages and there will be something for everyone to take away – whether a useful reference or a call to action in a particular area.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session.  You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.

Tax Year End Planning & Strategies

This webinar focuses on the key issues affecting higher rate taxpayers, identifying the main allowances available and key trade-offs to think about. We share good practice, experience, and references that we hope you can use to better understand and be more tax efficient with your finances.

We will explain the benefits of saving into a pension whilst looking at the other tax wrappers available to you once the annual and lifetime allowances become an issue.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session.  You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.

Understanding protection policies & options

This unique webinar dispels many of the misconceptions associated with life insurance contracts and provides an insight into how to best understand your requirements and potential solutions.

It is often said that people have inadequate life cover in place. However, many people also have policies in place that are no longer suitable because of how much life can change after policies are set up. Other people think that insurance is an all or nothing scenario however, there are many variations that are possible to create peace of mind.

The webinar is suited to people of all ages and while associated with worst case scenarios, the main message is to plan for best case scenarios with confidence that other scenarios have been accounted for.

Introduction to Estate Planning

The Estate planning webinar will share key references about maximising what you have to enjoy, protecting the people you care about and passing on as much as you can in the way you’d want.

Making sure you don’t pay more tax than you need whilst being tax compliant, having someone you trust to make decisions for you if you can’t for any reason, protecting assets whilst sharing them with loved ones and doing everything you can to pass on as much as you can, all underpin that. We will cover inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax planning opportunities, powers of attorney, trusts, wills and pension/death in service nominations.

There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session.  You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.
