These events cover a wide range of topics; including retirement, investment, estate planning and tax efficiency.
The value of your investments can go down as well as up and you may get back less than you paid in. Laws and tax rules may change in the future. Your own circumstances also have an impact on tax treatment.

Introduction to financial planning
If you feel like you could be doing more to make your pension work for you and are interested in understanding how you might get into saving habits that suit you, this session is for you.
‘Pension freedoms’ were a collection of changes made in April 2015 to provide more flexibility around retirement options. They have completely changed the pension landscape. This session emphasises the importance of understanding these changes and helps make sense of the decisions you have ahead.
It’s also important to know what the differences are between pensions and other savings and how those ways of savings could work for you. ISAs in particular are designed to encourage additional saving. There are various types of ISAs that meet a range of needs, so it is important to know which one is best for you.
During the webinar you will hear about pensions and how they can be a great way to save for the future, why you could consider saving with an ISA and the potential benefits of doing so and the different ISA options.
There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session. You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.
Pension planning and tax efficient investing
If you’re already familiar with the benefits of a pension and already make use of other investment products, such as ISAs, but are looking to better understand how you can develop a tax efficient financial plan for the future, this session is for you.
It will recap the benefits of saving into a pension whilst looking at the other tax wrappers available to you once the annual and lifetime allowances become an issue whilst considering attitude to risk, diversification and the potential impact of the annual or lifetime allowance on your pension. Both the annual and lifetime allowances will be covered in detail to allow you to determine when and how they are likely to affect you. Case studies are included to demonstrate long-term tax efficient financial planning strategies using other investments wrappers.
There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session. You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from 1825 after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your personal circumstances.

Estate planning and wills
Estate planning is about maximising what you have to enjoy, protecting the people you care about and passing on as much as you can in the way you’d want. If you’d like to understand what more you can do to put an effective estate plan in place, this is the session for you.
Making sure you don’t pay more tax than you need whilst being tax compliant, having someone you trust to make decisions for you if you can’t for any reason, protecting assets whilst sharing them with loved ones and doing everything you can to pass on as much as you can, all underpin that. We will cover inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax planning opportunities, powers of attorney, trusts, wills and pension/death in service nominations.
There will be an opportunity to raise questions throughout and you are entitled to a free 1:1 conversation with an estate planning specialist from abrdn after the session to discuss your circumstances in more detail.
If you’re considering retiring within the next 5 years, this webinar, which is tailored to your work pension/benefits, will look at the lifestyle, investment and financial planning considerations both in the build up to and the period post retirement. It will cover pensions and also the other assets that you may have to help you understand how these can work together to deliver you a tax efficient and sustainable income in retirement.
There will be an opportunity to raise questions throughout and you are entitled to a free 1:1 conversation with a retirement planning specialist from abrdn after the session if you’d like to discuss your circumstances in more detail.
If you have a keen interest in understanding the latest trends in global economic data and markets, then this is the session for you.
This session will provide insights into what we can potentially expect from market movements, future economic forecasts and political activity as the world continues to adjust to COVID-19.
There will be opportunities for questions throughout and at the end of the session. You are also entitled to a free 1:1 discussion with a financial planner from abrdn after the event to talk through how to apply that information to your individual circumstances.
